Ghenova

GHENOVA is a unique engineering and consulting group that develops cross-cutting solutions and ensures the success of projects of high technological complexity.
Our trajectory begins at the end of the 60s and is backed by a commitment to prioritizing talent, excellence and experience in response to our customers and collaborators. All this time, our company has been growing and developing world-wide, reaching the 500-employee mark and opening offices in Spain and around the world. In Spain we have offices in Ferrol, Vigo, Puerto de Santa María (Cádiz), and Madrid, with our headquarters in Seville.

On a global scale, we are present in Brazil, Mexico, Chile, and Bolivia, and we have recently opened in Australia.

The beginning of this Australian adventure is a very important step in Ghenova’s expansion process owing to the opportunities detected in the naval sector, especially for defense, as well as in the generation of energy, water and infrastructure.

In this sense, it is expected that the Royal Australian Navy’s programs will require extensive engineering hours. Companies such as NAVANTIA (AWD and ALHD programs) – a reference client for GHENOVA – the British BAE Systems (SEA5000 frigate program), and the French Naval Group (SEA1000 submarine program) will have a presence in Australia and will require specialized engineering support in these types of programs, in which GHENOVA has ample experience.

As for the generation of energy, currently, 21% of the energy that is generated in Australia comes from renewable sources (primarily solar, wind and hydro), but the country intends to reach their goal of 50% clean energy by 2030 .

Francisco Cuervas, CEO of Ghenova, has insisted that “we believe it is a good time to break into the country. We cover several of the sectors for which Australia has a significant engineering shortage, which allows us to minimize the risk that new establishment always entails.”

The plan includes internship agreements with Australian universities to host fourth-year engineering students in our offices in Spain, which will later be incorporated into GHENOVA Australia.

Ghenova is a benchmark in the naval sector in Spain and Latin America, a region which has been key for its diversification into the infrastructure and renewable energy sectors. 2018 was a record year for Ghenova, as the company’s turnover exceeded 24 million euros in turnover and its surpassed the 500-employee benchmark – a strong growth trend that hints at a new turnover record for 2019.
